The Magical Paintings of Leonid Afremov

Leonid Afremov is a living legend and for good reason. I love his work and wanted to share some images and links for those of you interested in modern painting.

Biography of Leonid Afremov from his website:

Leonid Afremov was born in city of Vitebsk in 1955. Amazingly enough Leonid was born in the same town as Marc Chagall, the famous artist who also founded the Vitebsk Art School along with Malevich & Kandinsky. Leonid Afremov graduated from Vitebsk Art School in 1978 and is one of the elite members.

As he said, he tried different techniques during his career, but he especially fell in love with painting with oil and palette-knife. Every artwork is the result of long painting process; every canvas is born during the creative search; every painting is full of his inner world. Each of his paintings brings different moods, colors and emotions. Leonid Afremov just like those well-known artists, Da Vinci, Picasso, and Monet loves to express the beauty, harmony and spirit of this world in his paintings. With his heart completely open to art, he enjoys creating inspired and beautiful paintings from the bottom of his soul. Each of his artworks reflects his feelings, sensitivity, passion, and the music from his soul. True art is alive and inspired by humanity. "I believe that art helps us to be free from aggression and depression", he said. Currently Leonid Afremov Art is being collected all over the world. There are many pleased collectors in the USA, Israel, Italy, France, England, Spain, Norway, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.
